Our Mission is to to disseminate information to help change attitudes and laws in Japan in order to assure all children of frequent, meaningful and continuing contact with both natural parents, regardless of citizenship, marital status or gender. We want to restore the rights of children in Japan with separated parents, such as in divorce, international parental abduction to Japan, parental kidnapping within Japan and birth out of wedlock. Every Child Has Two Parents.

We welcome contact with the press and other organizations. If you are a member of the press or other mass media, and there is any way we can help you with a story related to children's rights in Japan, please do not hesitate to contact us. We have both Japanese and non-Japanese parents of abducted children available for interviews, as well as both Japanese and non-Japanese lawyers.

The Japan Children's Rights Network is pursuing changes in Japanese public attitudes and domestic laws through the internet, traditional media, politicians, and liaisons with other concerned groups in Japan. Our international members are pursuing changes in worldwide international laws, treaties, and policies to put external pressure on Japan to help make this happen.

Our website contains what we believe to be the largest collection of English language information on Japanese Family Law on the Internet. Although not legal advice, it provides experience-centric information on parental abduction, child custody, and visitation rights in Japan. This information documents cases of parental abduction, denied visitation rights, discrimination, child abuse and other such activities in Japan.

CRN Japan also works to strengthen families and assist children of divorced, separated and never married parents. We offer support and information to parents and children from an online discussion group that anyone can join. Limited personal assistance is available to dues paying members of our organization.

Finally, we operate an online service to help children contact left-behind parents which is indexed by major search engines. By adding a child's name and other personal information to this database, a child will eventually be able to find his or her missing parent when the child someday searches for themselves on the internet. Contact us directly if you would like to add your child's name.

CRN Japan runs strictly on a volunteer basis. There are no salaries or other compensation paid, and very few of the actual expenses are even reimbursed to the volunteers. Of course we hope to change this in the future.
