14-year-old girl commits suicide on Aichi railway
The Mainichi Shimbun TOYOKAWA, Aichi -- A 14-year-old girl committed suicide here on Friday by walking along some railway tracks until she was hit by an oncoming train. The third-year junior high school girl died after being hit by a local train on the JR Iida Line in Toyokawa at around 3 p.m. on Friday, local police said. The girl, whose name was not disclosed, left what appeared to be a suicide note at her home, which partly reads, "Thank you for supporting me up to now," according to investigators. She was diagnosed as mentally unstable due to anxiety over her relationships with friends, and was receiving treatment. (Mainichi Japan) January 19, 2008 |
