OKAZAKI, Aichi -- Three teens including junior high school boys were arrested Friday for assaulting a younger student, leaving him with burns and other injuries, police said.

The three, including a 15-year-old third-year student at an Okazaki municipal junior high school, stand accused of inflicting bodily injury. The municipal board of education is also investigating the allegations that they had persistently bullied the victim.

The three shaved the body hair of the 14-year-old victim at the home of one of them in Okazaki on Jan. 11, sprayed an insecticide at him and ignited the gas, local police said. The victim suffered burns in the attack.

They then beat the victim at the same home two days later, leaving him with injuries that are expected to take two weeks to heal.
