Teen questioned over online death threat against Fukuoka school student
The Mainichi Shimbun FUKUOKA -- A teenager is being questioned over allegations that he posted a message on an online bulletin board threatening to kill an elementary school child in Fukuoka Prefecture on Monday, investigators said. Fukuoka Prefectural Police are considering forming a case against the boy, whose name and age are being withheld, for intimidation. The message was posted on the bulletin board at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to investigators. The Metropolitan Police Department received a report from an Aichi Prefecture resident Monday morning about the message, and alerted Fukuoka police, which in turn notified local education authorities. "I'll kill an elementary school child in Fukuoka Prefecture at 3 p.m. on March 3," the message read. The Fukuoka Municipal Board of Education went on an alert. However, the message turned out to be bogus. (Mainichi Japan) March 4, 2008 |
