Pimps charged for supplying schoolgirl prostitutes

CHIBA -- Two men who made millions of yen supplying schoolgirl prostitutes for dozens of jobs have been arrested, police said.

Yoshiyuki Matsui, 33, unemployed of no fixed address, was arrested for breaking the Child Welfare Law and the Law for Punishing Acts Related to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.

Matsui, who had already been in police custody on a separate charge, was sent to the Chiba District Public Prosecutors Office.

Also arrested on the same charges was Masao Yoshikawa, 31, a company employee from Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture.

Police said that the specific charge for which Matsui was arrested involved him supplying a 15-year-old junior high school girl and an 18-year-old unemployed teenager to a dentist from Shiroi, Chiba Prefecture, at a hotel in nearby Matsudo on June 4 last year. Police said Matsui supplied the girls in return for a payment of 60,000 yen, despite knowing they would be used for indecent acts.

The dentist has already been convicted of breaking the child prostitution law and was fined 500,000 yen.

Police said that in the period since April last year, Matsui and Yoshikawa supplied sex work for at least 14 teenage girls aged from 15 to 19, including two junior high schoolgirls. They were involved in supplying the workers for sex jobs on at least 77 occasions during that time, and made more than 3 million yen in profits, police said.
