HYOGO — Police on Wednesday arrested a 39-year-old man for abusing his 11-year-old daughter in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, after a local child and family center reported the case to police. Junichi Kawatake, 39, was arrested for allegedly abusing his daughter by punching her in the face on March 31. According to investigations, the daughter ran to a neighbor’s house after being beaten. The neighbor took her to the center, which notified police.

The suspect has admitted to yelling at his daughter, but denied punching her. Police say they found bruises on the girl’s hands and legs as well as her face.
