Kagoshima mom arrested for cruel attack on toddler son

KAGOSHIMA -- A woman who joined her lover in unleashing a near-fatal attack on her 4-year-old son has been arrested, police said.

Riemi Yamamoto, 27, unemployed of Kagoshima, was arrested for inflicting bodily injury on her son.

Her boy remains in a coma following the alleged attack on April 24.

Police said Yamamoto joined her lover Kosuke Ogawa in taking turns to punch the boy in the face and head over a five-hour period on April 24.

Ogawa, 24, has already been arrested for inflicting bodily injury.
