Teen commits suicide in telephone booth
The Mainichi Shimbun NUMATA, Gunma -- An 18-year-old youth committed suicide in a telephone booth here after inhaling a fatal amount of a toxic gas that appears to have been hydrogen sulfide, police said. The teenager was found slumped over in the phone booth and his death was confirmed early Wednesday at a local hospital. Two people in the area near the phone box were evacuated. Police said they found a bucket containing a liquid and six types of pharmaceutical inside the phone box. The boy did not leave a suicide note, but posted a warning that he was using poisonous gas on the phone booth. (Mainichi Japan) May 14, 2008 |
