Kaori Miyamori, 25, an unemployed woman living in Ishinomaki, said she had intended to commit suicide after killing her daughter. "I had intended to die with my daughter," she was quoted as telling investigators.

Miyamori hurled her daughter Haruka into the sea from the pier of Ishinomaki Port at around 12 a.m. on Wednesday, local police said.

Based on her confessions, investigators searched the sea and found Haruka's body in an area about 300 meters from the pier.
