Tamotsu Watanabe, 46, a certified tax accountant of Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture, stands accused of violating the Law Punishing Acts Related to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.

He admitted to the allegations, and confessed that he had also earlier performed indecent acts on the same girl.

Watanabe paid 50,000 yen to a then 17-year-old, third-year high school girl and performed indecent acts on her at a hotel in Higashimatsuyama on Jan. 8, while knowing that she was under 18, local police allege. He had got acquainted with the girl through an online matchmaking site.

The Law Punishing Acts Related to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography applies to prostitution with those under the age of 18.
