Schoolgirl stabbed in back by fellow student in Wakayama
The Mainichi Shimbun YUASA, Wakayama -- A 13-year-old girl suffered serious injuries when she was stabbed in the back several times by another girl from the same school, law enforcers said. Police said an emergency call was made at about 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, saying there was someone injured on a road in Yuasa. The victim, a 13-year-old, second-year junior high school girl, had been stabbed several times in the back by another 13-year-old girl from the same school. Investigators said that the 13-year-old girl who stabbed the victim was found in the area by a police officer. She was taken into custody, and accused of attempted murder. The victim's wounds appeared to have been made with a small knife, investigators said, adding that she had five stab wounds in her back and one in her abdomen. Investigators believe some sort of trouble had erupted between the two girls prior to the attack. They are continuing to investigate the motives for the stabbing. (Mainichi Japan) June 19, 2008 |
