Government official busted for paying 15-year-old girl for sex

A senior official at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was arrested on Thursday for paying a teenage girl for sex, police said.

Takashi Kaneko, 43, an official at the Transport Ministry's City and Regional Development Bureau, has admitted to the allegations.

"I paid her for sex about eight times," Kaneko was quoted as saying.

Kaneko allegedly paid 50,000 yen to the 15-year-old girl for sex at a hotel in Kawasaki on Sept. 17 last year.

Kaneko told officers that he had paid some 10 other girls for sex. (Mainichi)
