High school boy arrested for slashing violent classmate
The Mainichi Shimbun ZENTSUJI, Kagawa -- A high school boy has been arrested for slashing a classmate after the victim hit him in their classroom, police said. The 15-year-old, first-year student at private Jinsei Gakuen High School in Zentsuji, is accused of attempted murder. He denied any murderous intent during questioning. The classmate was also arrested on suspicion of inflicting bodily injury by hitting the boy's face. At about 8 a.m. on Friday, the boy got furious after the classmate punched him in the face in their classroom, and slashed the classmate with a hatchet in the head, investigators said. The classmate suffered slash wounds that required six stitches. Investigators are questioning him over why he was carrying the hatchet and how he obtained the weapon. September 29, 2007 |
