Calculating Child Support in Japan

The Japanese court system puts out a chart of recommended child support payments.  They payments seem to be different before and after the divorce, but I am still trying to confirm this.  If true, it seems that they are higher before divorce and lower after.

Instructions on how to read them  (cached copy: page1  page2  page3) - These are Japanese, sorry, we don't have an English translation yet.  Please do send me the English translation if you get one made.

Pre-Divorce child support chart, 2 children only.  -  We have not found the pre-divorce charts at the court website yet.  But one person scanned and sent us one chart from the legal journal Hanrei Times, which had an issue that contained them all.  See below for information on that issue.
