Megumi Yokota Protest Flyer

Return to main Megumi Yokota Protest page

Thank you for your support and for attending the protest.  We will have pictures and links to media coverage available soon.  Come back.

Document Format Description
"The Megumi Yokota Story" Protest Flyer PDF

A one page, front and back handout targeted at someone who has seen or has at least heard of the Megumi Yokota Story documentary.  It includes a description of the major issues, demands to Japan, a call to boycott travel to Japan, and letters to send to the Japanese Ambassador and your elected representatives.  (If you want to send the letters, download full sized versions from below instead.)

You have our permission to distribute this flyer, in its entirety, in any media you desire.  Print it and hand it out to your neighbors and co-workers.  Email it to your friends.  Put it on your own website.  We don't care!  But you may not edit it or change the content.

Announcement of the protest html These are not the same, so you may want to look at both of them.

Letter to a US national elected politician PDF This has blank spaces to sign, fill in your name and optional address. You have our permission to modify this letter and distribute it, but you may not distribute it on a website. These letters are very similar, except the requests for action reflect state, national or president specific wording or actions. For example:

The local letter contains some, but not all national requests, and the phrase "in our state" has been added in some cases also to the request.

The national letter does not contain any state requests, and asks for laws to be enacted to get things accomplished, since this is mostly how they get things done.

The US President letter has requests based on his additional powers to "direct" the State Department.

Letter to the President of the United States

The postal address is in the letter, but additional contact information is on the White House website.  Reports are that the email address does not work, but the fax number does work.  Another person reports that the following email addresses do work.

president (AT whitehouse.gov

firstlady AT] whitehouse.gov

Laura Bush has taken on a role as the first lady that supports American Youth, so you may want to write to her also.
