90% of local gov'ts have info disclosure ordinances

TOKYO — More than 90% of local governments in Japan have information-disclosure ordinances, up from about 80% last year, a home affairs ministry survey showed Tuesday.

Among 3,260 prefectural, municipal and ward offices across the country, 2,937 have set up some kind of information-disclosure bylaws, up 268 from last year, according to the survey by the Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications Ministry. (Kyodo News)
